The Riches of Christ

What are the riches of Christ?

Peace of mind, Joy in spite of circumstances, opportunities to share in God's work.
In what ways can we enjoy these "riches of God?"
Through prayer, we can bring the pain or burden  of another to God for help.

Galatians 6:2 says, "Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ."

When we reach out to another to help in their pain, we will receive a blessing as well. If we share the riches of Christ, we must be willing to share in the work of Christ.

Treasures From God

"God has made us what we are.  He has created us in Christ Jesus to live lives filled with good works that He has prepared for us to do."
Ephesians 2:10  (God's Word)

Don't Give Up!

Are you ever tempted to give up on life?

I think we've all had life throw us a punch that we didn't think we could handle.
But, I found a promise we can stand on and, I just have to share it with you!

God has promised to stick with us through thick and thin.

"So we're not giving up. How could we!
Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace.
The hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us.  There's far more here than meets the eye.  The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow.  But the things we can't see now will last forever.
Just remember, when it feels like things are falling apart, God's on the inside just rearranging 'the furniture'!

The Chain Breaker!

Jesus Christ is the Chain breaker!

'"You can tell for sure that you are now fully adopted as His own children because God sent the Spirit of His Son into our lives crying out, "Papa! Father!" Doesn't that privilege of intimate conversation with God make it plain that you are not a slave, but a child?  And if you are a child, you're an  heir, with complete access to the inheritance."

Galatians 4:6-7  The Message Bible

When Life Doesn't Make Sense!

Everyone experiences times when life doesn't make sense.

We may seem to have it all together, all our dreams are coming true, and life is good,
then, we wake up one morning and life has thrown us a curve ball.  Our minds are bombarded with so many unanswered questions such as, "How could this happen to me, I am a good person,  doesn't that count for anything?

Perhaps, like me, you thought that because you were a Christian,  God would keep bad things from happening to you.

We live in a fallen world where everyone doesn't play fair.

God has given all mankind a free will to choose good or evil.  As we know, not all people choose to treat others fairly.
However, God has promised that when we choose to accept His guidance, He will walk with us through the hard, unfair places in life. .

I once went through a very dark place where all my dreams for the future died.
I found this promise in the Bible that helped me to make it through and, I pray that it will encourage you:

For He has said, "I will never under any circumstances desert you nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless, nor will I forsake you or let you down or relax My hold on you, assuredly not!"  Hebrews 13:5

Our True Identity

What guidelines do we use to determine our true identity?
Is our worth measured by what others think of us?
Is it the amount of education we have obtained?
Is it the people we associate with that determines our value?
Do our possessions or our social standing determine our worth?

God loves us this much:  "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world, that He even gave His One and only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him as Savior shall not perish, but have eternal life."
 John 3:16  Amplified Bible

God Alone Meets Every Need.

God knows us, yet still loves us

There is such deep comfort to be found in God's Word.  When we realize that our heavenly Father knows everything about us, all our secrets,  sins, fears, and doubts,  yet he still loves us.  This is such an amazing love.

Scripture helps us to picture in our minds everything concerning our lives spread out before him.  We see him examining every detail of our lives, very carefully going over all our intentions and comparing them with what we actually did, scrutinizing every moment.

There is a cleansing value to the discipline that comes from being examined  by God in this way. It may call to our minds the feelings we had as a child when we needed correction and guidance from our parents.

None of us enjoy being corrected.  We do not enjoy changes most of the time, even changes for the better.  We are much more content to stay where we are.  Often we cry out for help with a problem in our lives, and when our Father begins to help, it may not be the help we had in mind.

We want our way.

We always want healing and restoration, peace and happiness, but we are afraid to allow God to take full control of our lives.

We begin to rationalize with ourselves.  No matter how much we hurt, it seems better to stay as we are than to step into the unknown.  We're afraid of what changes we may face.
It brings such a terrifying, helpless feeling that seems much worse than the pain we are presently facing.  We take comfort in the "familiar pain," because we know what that is.

That first step may feel like stepping off a cliff into nothingness!  We long to be free of our pain, but we are filled with fear of that unknown future.

Thank God, that when we dare to trust him for that first step, we find the peace and change we are looking for.  More often than not, we find that what God does is so much better than anything we had ever hoped for.
We are much like a child who is sick and needs an operation.  We fight anyone who wants to do anything that we perceive as being painful.  Often, God has to allow us to run until we  wear ourselves out, and the pain becomes greater than our fear of his answer.

Then the healing starts

When we reach this point, and take that long dreaded first step, we are relieved to realize it is not emptiness we are stepping into.  We didn't fall!  He supplied the "floor" we needed to stand on.
After taking that first step, we feel a sense of relief.  Sometimes though, we may become fearful again and begin to wonder what God is going to change in our lives.  We wonder what he will have to do to bring about the needed change.
God will begin to open up the wound.  Yes, our hurt, bruised spirits, our problems, feel like very deep wounds.  Sometimes, it seems like a disease of cancer of the soul that has grown untreated except for the surface surgery we have allowed God to do.

     The Bible says,
"For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12).

When we allow God to perform the spiritual surgery necessary to take out our cancerous problems, there will be pain.  We will often feel much worse before we begin to feel well.
God has to cut down to the very core of the source of our problems, if we are to be made whole.  It is generally not a quick process. We may even wish for our old lifestyle again.  However, if we allow God to complete his work in us, there will come a day when we realize that we are beginning to recover from this painful surgery. We may feel so weak and helpless inside, but different in a good way, as we feel a healing taking place in us.

We will wake one morning and feel better, relaxed.
Walking through life today isn't as hard as it was yesterday.

We're on the road called, "Renewal," and it's been worth all we've had to experience !

A Faithful Friend

Do you have a friend with whom you can share your deepest thoughts and desires?

God is always ready, not only to listen, but to walk through life's journey with us.

This is God's message to you today:

"Do not worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need,   always giving thanks. And God's peace, which is so great we cannot understand it, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus".
Philippians 4:6-7  (New Century Version)

Blessings From Heaven!

Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ.  This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.  So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.  He is so rich in kindness and grace that He purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sins.

Ephesians 1:4-7  (NLT  Translation)

God is Our Helper

"The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: The Lord's mercy.

We were not completely wiped out.
His compassion is never limited.
It is new every morning.
His faithfulness is great.
My soul can say, 'The Lord is my lot in life. That is why I find hope in Him.'
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to anyone who seeks help from Him.

All of us have times we feel weighed down with life.

Be Yourself!

God never called us all to fit into the same mold.

Each person has been individually designed by the Great Creator, God, who delights in His creation.

Have you ever stopped to consider that no two people on earth are exactly alike?

God has given you a personality and set of experiences that are unique to you.  The gifts and talents that you've been blessed with are not by accident. He has designed a wonderful plan and purpose for your life that is unlike anyone else's.  However, if we don't seek out God's plan for our lives, we just might miss it.

So, how do we find out what God's purpose for our lives is?

Ask the Creator!  Since He has a plan already designed for your life,  God must surely want to share that plan with you.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)

You may not have ever considered talking to God but, I encourage you to give it a try.  It's simply a conversation.

Say this:  God, what is your plan and purpose for my life?  Please show me.
