Christ Breaks Every Chain!

There is Freedom in Christ that no one else can offer.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (The Message)

5- "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. 6- Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track".

Are you facing an insurmountable problem today, that seems impossible to go through?   Then I have Good News for you.   Multitudes before you have faced such odds in their lives that seemed as if it would consume them.

The nation of Israel faced such circumstances at one time in their history. They had been living in slavery in the land of Egypt for 430 years with no hope of freedom in sight.  But, God had a plan that they never expected to take place.  Living in slavery had become a way of life to them, but God defeated Pharaoh and freed them.

Soon after they left Egypt, the evil Pharaoh, realizing the free labor he had lost, sent his army after the Israelites to bring them back into enslavement.

The Children of Israel were approaching the Red Sea, which was at full tide, when they caught sight of the massive Egyptian army closing in behind them.  They were so terrified, and felt trapped by the Red Sea before them and the approaching Army behind them.

The people cried out to Moses, their leader,

(Exodus 14:11-12)
"Did you bring us out into the desert to die because there were no graves in Egypt"? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!"
(Exodus 14:13-14 )
Moses answered the people, "Don't be afraid! Stand still, and see what the LORD will do to save you today. You will never see these Egyptians again. The Lord is fighting for you! So be Still!"
(Exodus 14:15-16)
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to Me? Tell the Israelites to start moving. Raise your staff, stretch out you hand over the sea, and divide the water. Then the Israelites will go through the sea on dry ground".

There may be a "RED SEA" situation in your life today.  Any change from your present circumstances may seem impossible.  You may have wondered where God is and why He is allowing you to be surrounded by what seems to be hopelessness.

Moses and the children of Israel made a decision that day at the Red Sea.  You have to make that same decision  in your life today.

God may be asking you to step out into an unknown future that He has prepared for you.  This is frightening for us, when we are trusting our own efforts and not the unseen Hand of God.

If you continue to stand still and choose not to obey Him, the enemy that is pursuing you will overtake you and pull you away from God's great plan for your life.

Let The Chains Fall!

God never speaks untruth to our hearts.  Do what He is telling you (in your heart) to do.

You will find deliverance from all that has engulfed you waiting on the other side.

Don't Give Up! God's Still Working on You

God has a plan and a purpose for each of us.  You may be in a difficult place today searching for answers.  Don't give up.  God isn't finished  with you, these are just growing pains.

2 Corinthians Ch. 4:16-18 (The Message)

16- "So we're not giving up.  How could we!  Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace."

17- "These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celeebration prepared for us."

18-  "There's far more here than meets the eye.  The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow.  But the things we can't see now will last forever."

Just remember, when it feels like things are faling apart, God's on the inside just rearranging 'the furniture'!

God is Our Source of Help

"Turn your burdens over to the Lord, and He will take care of you.
He will never let the righteous person stumble."  (Psalm 55:22 )- God's Word Translation)

My translation:  to better help me understand this verse.

Throw, fling anything you are carrying or enduring, whatever is hard to bear, on the Lord, your Master, Your keeper, and He shall maintain, keep supplied with necessities, provide, support, carry your weight, strengthen your spirit, comfort and encourage you.  He shall not ever, at any time, not at all, permit, tolerate, the just, upright child of God to be stirred out of place, uprooted or changed from his position in Christ Jesus!

I have come to the conclusion that God doesn't want us to stumble through this life alone.  He wants to be our helper and guide through this life.

Christ's Presence in Us Gives Meaning to Life

Question:  How is it possible to be in the presence of Christ and remain unchanged?

Answer:     Unbelief

35  Jesus replied, I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst any more (at any time).
36  But [as] I told you, although you have seen Me, still you do not believe and trust and have faith.
37  All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me].
38  For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will and purpose but to do the will and purpose of Him Who sent Me.
39  And this is the will of Him Who sent Me, that I should not lose any of all that He has given Me, but that I should give new life and raise [them all] up at the last day.
40  For this is My Father’s will and His purpose, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] at the last day.
 - John 6:35-40 (The Amplified Bible)

  • God the Father had a plan and a purpose for sending Jesus to earth.
  • Jesus came in obedience to the Father's plan.
  • Jesus carried out every plan in every detail that the Father ordered.
  • He gave to anyone who was willing to believe and receive everything the Father planned for Jesus to offer.

Your name is listed in that plan!

Our Trials Can Become a Blessing and Time of Growth for Us

Trials (tough circumstances we all must face) can affect us in two ways:

  1. They can cause us to grow bitter and cold in our relationship with Christ and others
  2. They can soften our hearts and help us understand the needs of those around us who may be suffering.

There are so many hurting people in our world today, look for someone to encourage.

In the Bible, Paul used the words "comfort" and "consolation" many times as he explained the great consolation that Christ wants to give us when we are afflicted.

Trials can be a time of drawing us closer to Christ and helping us mature as Christians.

I'm sure many of you have found that when you have consoled others, you have been blessed and drawn closer to God.  We find that we can share another person's heartache with a greater feeling and love than before, if we have had a similar experience, and have found comfort from God.

As we seek God's blessings upon our lives, let's look for ways to bless others.

We Were Not Created to Carry Heavy Burdens!

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you;he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 55:22  (New International Version)

My translation using the dictionary to better understand these words:

Throw, fling anything you are carrying or enduring, whatever is hard to bear, on the Lord, your Master, Your Keeper, and He shall maintain, keep supplied with necessities, provide, support, carry your weight, strengthen your spirit, comfort and encourage you.

He shall not ever, at any time, not at all, permit, tolerate the just, upright, child of God to be stirred out of place, uprooted or changed from his position in Christ Jesus!

So be encouraged, Cast your cares upon the Lord.  Let Him do the heavy lifting for you.
